Amazing what a little paint can do

I just wanted to share with you a couple of little projects I got finished from around the house. I bought this paint to finish my kitchen cabinets, and had some extra around and decided to fix up a couple of brown wood items in the house to black.

It is like a five step process, but well worth it. You have to clean the old parts, get off all the dirt and protector that was there before. Then you paint it a couple of coats. You can add some gloss (I decided not to this time). Then you add sealant which protects and makes it shiny and like new.

Here is the couch leg. I had some hand me down legs from a previous couch that, well, it got cut in half to make it up the stairs and into the dump. And this couch had wheels on it before (apparently this is a thing?) But they were brown and I wanted black... yep, story of my life. So much nicer now.

And then there is this door handle. Oh my gosh. Now sure, I guess the brown wood was a thing, and I actually wasn't horrified by it, but this... so pretty. I had thought about replacing the whole handle, but I didn't know how to and I had the paint, so I painted it. And now I love it. When I was taking the pictures I kept thinking it was just backlit or something but no, it just looks like good and natural now. I can't get over it.

It is amazing what a little bit of paint and an afternoon can do. I would encourage you to fix up the small parts of your house that need fixing. The details matter and I am glad I got these details right.
